EPC — Electronic Power Control — governs the electronic pathway between accelerator pedal and throttle plate. Voltage signals originating at the pedal sensor are interpreted by the engine control module. Throttle plate position is then commanded by closed-loop logic. Any irregularity within that chain registers as a fault.
Failure modes documented in the guide include throttle body contamination or electronic fault, accelerator pedal sensor signal drift or dropout, brake-light switch malfunction, ignition coil failure or misfire, damaged wiring or connector corrosion, and engine management module fault.
