Launch X431 Update Enables Simos18.1 Cloning and Renault Gateway Unlocking

The package moves one-click Renault gateway-unlock key programming and Simos18.1 boot-mode cloning into routine OBD workflows — operations that previously required dealer-level access or bench work. For import-focused technicians running X431 hardware, the update changes the tool boundary between a key programmer and a full ECU tool.

IMMO Software Line: V10.61 and V10.70

The first half of the release targets X431 devices licensed for immobilizer work, including the dedicated IMMO ELITE, IMMO PLUS, and IMMO PRO tools. Renault V10.61 introduces one-click key programming across all supported models and adds an online gateway-unlock function for the Captur II smart-card key and fifteen additional models from 2020 onward. The gateway unlock is the operative change: modern Renault platforms require the security gateway to be released before any key-write sequence, and doing this online eliminates the manual bypass step that previously routed these jobs to dealerships.

OBD all-keys-lost capability is extended to the Captur II and the Kwid (2022 onward) plus thirteen further models, allowing a working key to be generated from an empty slot without module removal. Mercedes-Benz V10.70 adds one-click key programming for all Mercedes models up to 2014, consolidating a large FBS-generation block into a single automated routine. VW and Audi MQB 5C/5D immobilizer key programming is added through the XPROG5 build, covering vehicles from 2018 onward (Audi from 2019 onward).

XPROG5 / Simos18.1 Boot-Mode Cloning

The technically significant addition sits in IMMO PROG V10.26 for the XPROG5 hardware. Boot-mode read/write and cloning are now supported on the Simos18.1 engine control module used across VW, Audi, and Porsche engines above 1.8 litres from approximately 2014 to 2018. Boot-mode access permits a known-good calibration to be cloned into a donor ECU, or security data to be extracted without a live dealer connection. Immobilizer-data decryption is included for the same engine range.

The same V10.26 build extends chip-level read/write capability to several body and transmission modules, pushing bench operations onto the same tool already used for diagnostic scans.

Verification Parameters

Before initiating any of the new routines, confirm the device firmware and authorization level: X431 IMMO tools must be on V10.61 (Renault) or V10.70 (Mercedes); the XPROG5 must be on IMMO PROG V10.26 with the Simos18.1 module license active. For Renault gateway-unlock operations, verify stable 13.8–14.2 V supply at the OBD port — voltage drop below 13.5 V interrupts the online unlock handshake and forces a restart of the routine. For Simos18.1 boot-mode cloning, bench-supply the ECU at 12.0 V ± 0.2 V and confirm CAN-H line resistance of 60 ohms before the read sequence. Any deviation from those baselines produces read errors that the software will flag as boot-mode authentication failure rather than a wiring fault, masking the underlying condition if not pre-checked.
